Foot Path

The footpath leads from the car park on a direct and therefore quite steep path - partly with steps - to the castle. Directly below the castle, the last section of the footpath is closed due to roadworks. Pedestrians are diverted onto the road for the last 300 metres to the Eagle's Gate (entrance gate of the castle). The road between the car park and Eagle's Gate is not open to the public traffic (only permitted for castle traffic) and is therefore not very busy.

Please avoid walking through the castle forest during storms (danger from falling branches).
In winter, the footpath is closed due to the risk of black ice.
