From June 23-26, 2025, the Bundeswehr Military Music Week will take place in the Zollernalb district. The Wilhelmshaven Naval Music Corps, the Erfurt Air Force Music Corps and the Ulm Army Music Corps will be giving concerts in Meßstetten, Schwenningen, Nusplingen, Hartheim, Tieringen, Balingen and at Hohenzollern Castle in the categories of symphonic wind music, marching music, Bohemian-Moravian music and chamber music. The chamber concert in the Count's Hall at Hohenzollern Castle will be performed by the Erfurt Air Force Music Corps, which also includes the classical saxophone quartet and the percussion ensemble.
The brass quintet of the Erfurt Air Force Music Corps opens the special concert evening at Hohenzollern Castle. Afterwards, the classical saxophone quartet and the percussion ensemble of this music corps await the concert audience in the castle's Count's Hall. Chamber music ensembles with different focuses enrich the concert program of the music corps throughout Germany. With these exquisite ensembles, the musicians make a detour to Hohenzollern Castle. The proceeds from this concert will go to the Friends of Hohenzollern Castle and support the renovation of a stained glass window in the Protestant chapel.
The Erfurt Air Force Music Corps is the only orchestra of the Bundeswehr in central Germany and is therefore the musical ambassador of the Bundeswehr for the federal states of Thuringia, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Brandenburg and northern Bavaria. Whether original compositions for large symphonic wind orchestra, arrangements of classical works, swing, rock & pop, film music or traditional marches - you will find it all in a concert program of the music corps. The orchestra has already made guest appearances at international music festivals and played on concert tours in Belgium, France, Great Britain, Canada, Poland, Sweden, Kazakhstan and the USA, among others.
