The castle adventure day is all about fun and games for the whole family. Little princesses and big knights can let off steam to their heart's content as part of a colourful programme. This year's motto for the nationwide Castle Experience Day is ‘Dinner, please!’.
Program:
- The museum rooms are open and can be explored independently.
- Dining with Prussian kings: “A la francaise” or “A la russe”? In the Count's Hall, different types of dining are laid out and accompanied by information on the customs of the Prussian court.
- “To the table, please” - at various stations in the castle courtyard, the focus is on table manners: How did people dress at table? How do you set a table? What is the significance of fan language? What was and is considered good table manners? There are also three small etiquette crash courses for children.
- Children can make their own crowns and knight's helmets in the Royal Craft Garden.
- A “Highly Noble Couple and Walking Roses” stroll across the castle grounds from time to time.
- Court juggler Klausi Klücklich will let his soap bubbles fly on Saturday.
- The castle restaurant serves food and drink in the restaurant and beer garden. Thre are also delicious bubble waffles with ice cream and fruit at the Hansel & Gretel house in the castle garden.
This event is already included in regular castle admission. Free ticket holders and members of the Friends of Hohenzollern Castle have free admission, but must still book a corresponding (free) ticket in the ticket shop.
